Tian zi ge or mi zi ge?

Tian zi ge (a plus sign) is the usual starter grid. Mi zi ge adds diagonals for strokes like pie and na. Open squares are closer to composition paper.

What cell size do schools use?

Often 15 mm or 20 mm. Younger students may want 20–25 mm; smaller regular script can use 15 mm.
